What?
“It is impossible to walk rapidly and be unhappy”.
Mother Teresa
In December (date to be set) 2010 I will walk from Bangkok to Chiang Mai in order to raise funds and awareness of the plight of disabled orphans and underprivileged girls. I aim to raise approximately 500,000 baht by being sponsored by the kilometer. However, if I fall to far short of this I will walk back to Bangkok in order to meet our goal. The distance is approximately 750 kilometers (one way) and requires about 670 people to sponsor me 1 baht to the kilometer. However, any amount donated will be appreciated a great and will go directly into helping improve the lives of the vulnerable woman and children that need our help. |
Why?
- To raise awareness of the plight of disabled and maimed children on the streets and in the orphanages of Bangkok.
- To raise awareness of the plight of young girls taken from their homes and/or sold and forced into prostitution.
- To help improve the existing programs that supports these children academically and emotionally.
To help establish or improve or the existing programs that attempt to prepare underprivileged and/or abused woman and children for life beyond their current homes. read more... |
